Owen Roe
Chapel Block Syrah 08 $44.95
Wine Spectator 97 Points!!!!!!!
“Warm, inviting and impressive for the purity of its plum, blackberry and currant fruit, sailing easily over a bed of fine tannins, finishing silky and seamless, with hints of espresso and violet. This has extraordinary balance and finesse without sacrificing an ounce of power. Drink now through 2016. From Washington. – H.S. .
Intense and mouth-filling. Peppered bacon, black fruits, crushed violets, vanilla bean and five spice stain your tongue while they caress it. Even with its viscous, fleshy nature, the Chapel Block retains freshness and finishes with integrated tannins. – Marcus
Sineann Cabernet Franc Champoux Vineyard 08 $42
Wine Enthusiast 95 Points.
Huge, burly, chocolate cherries and spice. Under the black, black fruit scents, hints of bacon fat, lilac, roasted meat, and graphite. Gushing black cherry, black plum, blackberry jam, and just a hint of savory umame fill the mouth. A very full bodied, black fruit dominated, unusually plush Cabernet Franc. If this is indicative of the 2008 vintage, it’s going to be huge.
Guardian Cellars “The Wanted” 07 $39
Oh the excitement of a new wine! The Wanted is shaping up to become a wildly loved member of the Guardian Cellars library. We’re not messing around with this massive blend of 50% Cabernet and 50% Cabernet Franc, aged on 100% new French oak. The fruit, red plum, black currant, dark berries, is big on the palate and the notes of licorice, cocoa and espresso can’t be missed. The Wanted is comprised of fruit from Stillwater Creek Vineyard and barrel aged 22 months before bottling.
